Ingredients

  • Magic Masala Makhana

  • 1.5 cup Makhana

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil

  • 1 tbsp Maggi Masala-E-Magic /homemade Magic Masala

  • Chaat

  • 1/4 red onion, diced small

  • 1/2 tomato, diced small

  • 1/4 green bell pepper, diced small

  • Cilantro Chutney

  • Tamarind Chutney

  • Beet Chutney (pureed beets + a squeeze of lemon)

  • Yogurt Mix (greek yogurt + a dash of salt, sugar and cumin)

  • Sev

  • Squeeze of Lemon

  • Chaat Masala, to garnish

  • Pomegranate, to garnish

  • Chopped Cilantro, to garnish

Instructions

  • Makhana: In a pan over medium heat, add the oil and the makhana. Toss occasionally until they brown a little and get crunchy. Remove from heat and toss with magic masala until well combined.
  • Chaat: Assemble starting with the chutneys at the bottom for a festive touch OR as you would a regular chaat – the makhana, topped with veggies and chutneys. Finish with sev, pomegranate arils and cilantro. Don’t forget that squeeze of lemon and chaat masala, and enjoy!
